Volunteer at the Shockoe Institute

We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated volunteers who are interested in helping support our mission to put history to work to improve our civic life.

Our Volunteer Associates will help us to ensure that every individual’s experience reflects the Institute’s values, mission, and operational excellence. Working closely with our staff, associates will greet and orient visitors, assist learners in our Lab as they explore resources, and provide staffing for a wide array of programs and events.
